My husband and I bidded on a short sale home in West Covina, Ca. We placed our bid in June, 2008. The owner of the property has two loans. The first bank accepted our offer within 1 week. The second bank we are still waiting for...and today Sept. 25th we continue to wait. After all this time, I've become somewhat concerned and asked my agent if we can have another look at the house that we were waiting on. Well we did...today. We walk into the house as if we were looking at the house for the first time. Ironically the owner of the house says, that everytime someone bids they fall out of escrow (in which we have NOT, we are still waiting). But as we continued to look at the house, I noticed that the carpet in the rooms had been changed to new carpet since the last viewing in June. My question is, why would they change the carpet to a home that they are loosing. Then the swimming pool, when I saw in June was not attended anymore...but today the water looked cleaned and kept up with. I am totally confused...I have no idea what is going on. My agent had the face of disbelief and of dissapointment and confused. He said he would be contacting the listing agent first thing tomorrow to see what is really going on. ***We are currently on escrow. My agent had the other agent open escrow for us just to avoid anyone else placing a bid. And of course as we continue to wait we have gotten extentions...for now the trustee sale has the final extention for Nov. 3rd.... read more
